A courageous train staff member who stepped in to protect travelers during a mass knife attack on a express train has suffered life-threatening injuries, authorities stated on Sunday.

CCTV video reportedly depicts the employee attempting to halt the assailant as the train traveled between Peterborough and another station in the county. Witnesses recounted a terrifying 14-minute duration after the train departed Peterborough, with bloodied victims fleeing through carriages.
The individual, a 32-year-old British national from Peterborough, is in custody for questioning. Authorities announced a significant event on the 6:25 pm service from Peterborough to King's Cross in downtown London.

The incident on Saturday night resulted in 11 people being treated in medical facilities after the train made an unplanned stop at the station in Huntingdon. Several people have now been released from medical care.

“He didn’t stop the train in the middle of two stations where it’s clearly difficult for the first responders to reach, but he continued traveling until he arrived to Huntingdon, where the assistance was pretty much waiting,” stated a union official.
