David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.
A spokesman for the company commented: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the decision was reached following an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.
The publisher did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
A Prolific Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in five dozen languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released in excess of 40 works altogether, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.
Television and Literature
His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
