Esteemed Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
US performer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic television series like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in LA recently after undergoing cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per news outlets.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of well-known programs, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
