Soccer Expert Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international hiatus, however will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.
For the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.
Soccer and Family Life
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several charity football games over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."
Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.
"I won't push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this fixture will be quite close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.
The Hammers' only on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.
My son told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.
The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.
They have not had great success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
The singer's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.
Fulham have got lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.
As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
Their performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.
However I am not do that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's home form, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
