Trump Calls Relatives of Attacked National Guard Soldiers to the White House

President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has asked the loved ones of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the executive mansion.

He noted that he conversed with her family and they were “devastated”.

Background on the Tragic Shooting

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Gatherings across the state have taken place in their remembrance.

Presidential Call

The commander-in-chief explained he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the parents of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump told reporters. “And similarly with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Community members came together over the past few days at the high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of the president’s government program to assist policing efforts in DC.

Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the kind of student that teachers wished for. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that lifted people around her,” the principal, the leader of Beckstrom’s previous school, stated to the media. “She was sweet, considerate and always eager to support those in need.”

Funeral arrangements for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Actions and Government Adjustments

Law enforcement have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of homicide and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The incident prompted the Trump administration to halt refugee claims and temporarily stop granting visas to possessors of Afghan passports.

Status of the Airman

Wolfe, a native of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the news agency.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s governor Morrisey said on television.

Attorney general Pam Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she planned to visit his relatives.

Legacy of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, completed her education from her high school in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a MP with honor, per the state guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had bravery,” the governor told the audience at the service. “Though her time was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
